As part of the activities of the II International Congress “The value of water. New perspectives in the global world”, organised by the University of Jaén the next 6th of June 2025, the research project ’(Post)fossil culture: socio-cultural imaginaries, global warming and energy transition (KULTUR(P)FOSSIL, CNS2023-143774)‘ and the research group of the Institute of History of the CSIC ’Nature, territory and cultural imaginaries‘ (NATEiMA) coordinate together with the CNR-ISMed the session 29, entitled ’Faces, forms and the weight of water: documents and stories”. The panel will approach the narratives of water from the contributions of various Spanish and Italian academics, investigating, among other aspects, the importance that hydraulic imaginaries and energy infrastructures have had in shaping the modernisation processes of the countries of Southern Europe.
