(There is oil here!)<\/em><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"199\" data-end=\"690\">This seminar expands and deepens the reflections proposed by the exhibition <em data-start=\"275\" data-end=\"295\">Here There Is Oil!<\/em>, a project that investigates the historical and contemporary relationships between fossil fuels, forms of power, and imaginaries of desire. On this occasion, the focus shifts toward a theoretical and critical dimension, examining how fossil culture has shaped masculine subjectivities linked to the internal combustion engine and how these persist today under new forms of <strong data-start=\"669\" data-end=\"689\">petromasculinity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"692\" data-end=\"1190\">In dialogue with the historical genealogy outlined by the exhibition, the seminar brings together diverse voices from contemporary thought to discuss the persistence and transformations of <strong data-start=\"881\" data-end=\"899\">fossil fascism<\/strong> at a time marked by the global rise of the far right and the urgency of a just and sustainable energy transition. The contributions explore the aesthetic, political, and affective dimensions of fossil cultures, as well as their current manifestations in digital, media, and social contexts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1192\" data-end=\"1506\">The seminar featured <strong data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1233\">Gemma Barricarte<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1238\" data-end=\"1254\">Jaime Vindel<\/strong>, curators of the exhibition, alongside editor and writer <strong data-start=\"1312\" data-end=\"1330\">Layla Mart\u00ednez<\/strong> and researcher <strong data-start=\"1346\" data-end=\"1371\">Miriam Valero Cordero<\/strong>, who offer complementary perspectives from curatorial practice, cultural criticism, and academic analysis of contemporary imaginaries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1508\" data-end=\"2089\">The discussion is structured around a key question: how are the exaltation of motorized speed\u2014famously proclaimed in Filippo Tommaso Marinetti\u2019s <em data-start=\"1653\" data-end=\"1673\">Futurist Manifesto<\/em>\u2014and contemporary practices such as <em data-start=\"1709\" data-end=\"1723\">rolling coal<\/em> intertwined, whereby certain white, conservative male sectors claim energy excess as a form of identity-based resistance?
