Our starting point will be a close reading and discussion of the article <em data-start=\"271\" data-end=\"331\">\u201cPetro-Masculinity: Fossil Fuels and Authoritarian Desire\u201d<\/em> by Cara Daggett, Associate Professor of Political Science at Virginia Tech. A shortened Spanish translation of this text has been published in <em data-start=\"475\" data-end=\"505\">Atlas Cultural de la Energ\u00eda<\/em> (Mart\u00ednez, Santiago, and Vindel, 2025).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"1100\">Following a critical synthesis presented by Carmen Madorr\u00e1n (Professor of Philosophy, Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid) and Emilio Santiago (Research Scientist, CSIC), the seminar will open into a collective discussion around questions such as: What specific forms does patriarchy take within the petrocultures of the Anthropocene? What are the key features of contemporary petro-masculinity? What political effects is it producing?
