According to these positions, the theoretical analysis of Marxist economics, centered on exchange value, would have marginalized biophysical issues in the field of economic production. In a pioneering text, two of the most prominent figures of ecological economics, Joan Mart\u00ednez Alier and Jos\u00e9 Manuel Naredo, heirs in turn of the legacy of Georgescu-Roegen, debated this question in 1979 by exposing the rejection that Marx and Engels had expressed towards the contributions of the Ukrainian physician Podolisnky, regarding the link between the laws of thermodynamics and the theory of value. Given the difficulties in locating online the original text of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/elrincondenaredo.org\/bibliografia\">1979<\/a><\/strong>, we propose the reading of the text of these same authors in English on this matter, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1080\/03066158208438162\"><em>A Marxist Precursor of Energy Economics: Podolinsky<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, published in 1982. As this is an essential controversy in the field of ecological economics, we invite you to read it, as well as two more recent responses to these positions from ecomarxist spheres: <span style=\"font-size: 14.4px;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s11186-006-6781-2\"><em>Metabolism, Energy, and Entropy in Marx\u2019s Critique of Political Economy: Beyond the Podolinsky Myth<\/em><\/a><\/strong> by Paul Burkett and John Bellamy Foster, and <\/span><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www5.uva.es\/jec14\/comunica\/A_EEMA\/A_EEMA_2.pdf\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 14.4px;\">Economi\u0301a y naturaleza en Marx: el &#8220;asunto Podolisnky&#8221; como prueba de un divorcio <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14.4px;\">inexistente <\/span><\/em><\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 14.4px;\">by<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14.4px;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14.4px;\">Alfonso M.
